Managing SEO for a single-language website is already important, but multilingual websites need extra care.

Every translated page needs the right SEO title, meta description, keywords, canonical signals, schema settings, social image data, and language alternate URLs. If these signals are missing or inconsistent, search engines may struggle to understand which version of a page should appear for each language or region.

That is why we have added multilingual support to Rank Bix SEO.

Rank Bix SEO now automatically detects and integrates with Polylang and WPML, two of the most widely used multilingual plugins for WordPress.

With this update, important SEO fields are now easier to manage across translated content.

For Polylang Pro, Rank Bix SEO registers key SEO fields as translatable fields inside the Translation Editor, including:

1. SEO title
2. Meta description
3. Focus keyword
4. Secondary keywords

This means translators can localise SEO content properly for each language, instead of using the same title and description everywhere.

When a new translation is created in Polylang, Rank Bix SEO automatically copies the existing SEO meta data from the original post into the translated version as a starting point.

This includes:

1. SEO title
2. Meta description
3. Focus keyword
4. Noindex setting
5. Schema type
6. Social image
7. Other important SEO meta fields

This saves time and gives each translated post a proper SEO base before the translator or site owner fine-tunes it for the target language.

Some structural fields, such as noindex, schema type, and social image ID, are copied but not marked as translatable by default. This keeps important technical settings consistent across translations unless you choose to override them.

For WPML, Rank Bix SEO uses the standard WPML language URL handling through wpml_object_id, helping resolve the correct per-language URLs across your site. Custom SEO field translation can also be configured from:

WPML → Settings → Custom Fields Translation

We have also improved multilingual XML sitemaps.

On sites using Polylang or WPML, Rank Bix SEO now adds proper hreflang alternate links inside the XML sitemap.

Each sitemap URL can include alternate language versions using:

hreflang="en"
hreflang="fr"
hreflang="de"
hreflang="x-default"

This helps Google and other search engines understand the relationship between translated versions of the same content.

Even better, each translated post URL is also added as its own sitemap entry with a full set of reciprocal hreflang links. That means every language version points back to the others correctly.

Rank Bix SEO also keeps single-language websites clean. The extra xmlns:xhtml namespace is only added when hreflang links are actually present, so normal sitemaps remain simple and unchanged.

Sitemap caches are automatically cleared when translations are saved, so your multilingual sitemap stays updated whenever your translated content changes.

This update is built to help WordPress website owners, agencies, bloggers, and developers manage multilingual SEO with less manual work and better search engine signals.

Rank Bix SEO is becoming more powerful while staying lightweight and easy to use.
