Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 19, 2026
At Rank Bix SEO, your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. It applies when you visit our website, contact us for support, buy a Pro licence, or install the Rank Bix SEO WordPress plugin.
Contents
1. Information We Collect
We only collect what we need. Here is what that looks like in practice.
Information you give us directly:
- Your name and email address when you contact us or submit a support request
- Your website URL if you share it for support or troubleshooting
- Billing and payment details when you purchase a Pro licence
- Any details you include in a support message
Information collected automatically when you visit our website:
- IP address, browser type, and device type
- Pages you visit, how long you stay, and where you came from
- Cookie data (see the Cookies section below)
We do not sell your personal information and we never share it with advertising networks or data brokers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to run and improve our services:
- To reply to your support requests and bug reports
- To process Pro licence purchases, renewals, and activations
- To send plugin update notices or security advisories (you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time)
- To understand how our website is used so we can improve it
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, or abuse
- To meet legal and regulatory requirements
Where we need a legal basis: we process purchase-related data to fulfil our contract with you, we rely on legitimate interests for website security and improvement, and we rely on consent for any marketing emails.
3. Plugin Data and Your WordPress Site
The Rank Bix SEO plugin runs entirely on your own WordPress server. Everything it stores, including SEO titles, meta descriptions, redirect rules, sitemap settings, schema configuration, 404 logs, and all plugin options, lives in your own WordPress database. We have no access to it.
- We do not collect or receive any data from your WordPress installation automatically.
- We only see diagnostic information if you copy it and send it to us in a support message.
- You own and control everything the plugin stores. It is yours.
4. AI Provider API Keys
Rank Bix SEO lets you connect your own API keys from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Groq, or Cohere to power the AI Meta Generator feature. Here is what you should know:
- Your API keys are stored in your own WordPress database and are never transmitted to us or accessible by us.
- The AI features only send data to the chosen provider when you click a generate button. Nothing is sent in the background or automatically.
- You can limit what gets sent in Settings → Advanced so only the post title is shared with the AI provider.
- Each AI provider has its own privacy policy. We recommend reading them before you start using a provider.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. There are three limited situations where we may share information:
Service providers. We work with trusted third parties to run our business, such as a payment processor to handle checkouts and an email provider to send receipts. These companies can only use your data to carry out services for us and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
Legal obligations. If we are required to share information by law, a court order, or a regulatory authority, we will do so.
Business changes. If Rank Bix SEO is ever acquired or merges with another business, your information may be part of that transition. We will notify you if this happens.
6. Third-Party Services
Our website and plugin may interact with these types of services:
- WordPress.org (plugin distribution, community forum, reviews)
- Payment processors (Pro licence checkout)
- Email delivery providers (receipts, support replies, update notices)
- Analytics tools (anonymous website traffic data)
- AI API providers, but only when you configure and manually trigger the AI features
- Google Search Console API, but only when you connect your own account in the Pro GSC Performance feature
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for how they handle data.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies in three ways. Essential cookies keep the site working properly, for example session cookies and security tokens. Analytics cookies help us understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it. Preference cookies remember choices you make, such as a selected language. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or to build a profile of your browsing behaviour.
You can disable cookies in your browser at any time. Turning off essential cookies may affect how the site works.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Our website uses HTTPS. Access to personal data within our team is limited to those who need it. We use reputable payment processors and do not store raw card details ourselves.
That said, no online service can guarantee complete security. You are also responsible for keeping your WordPress admin account, hosting environment, and any API keys secure.
9. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as we need it:
| Data type | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Support messages | Up to 2 years, in case you follow up |
| Purchase and licence records | Minimum 5 years for accounting and legal compliance |
| Analytics / IP logs | Raw logs deleted within 30 days; aggregate data kept in anonymised form |
You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time by contacting us (see Contact Us). If a legal requirement means we must keep certain records, we will let you know.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights over your personal data. You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct anything that is wrong, delete your data, restrict how we use it, or provide a copy in a portable format. You can also object to certain types of processing, or withdraw consent at any time without affecting anything that happened before.
To make a request, email us at rankbixseo@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity first.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
11. Children's Privacy
Rank Bix SEO is designed for website owners, developers, and digital marketers. It is not intended for children under 16. If you think we have accidentally collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it straight away.
12. Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when our practices change or regulations require it. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will send you an email or post a notice on our website. Continuing to use our plugin or website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
